This Christmas, staff at Jerry Green Dog Rescue are hoping to make one special boy’s wish come true.
Rocco, a two-year-old Husky Cross, has been under their care for three long months after coming to the charity due to his owner’s ill health. Now, he’s ready to find the loving forever home he deserves, hopefully in time for Christmas. Currently living in a foster home, Rocco has become a firm favourite with everyone who meets him. Full of life and affection, he’s described by his foster carers as a “ball of energy” who loves to explore, play, and make people laugh. Smart, eager to learn and always up for a new adventure, he is the perfect companion for an active family who can match his enthusiasm for the outdoors.
Lauren Barker, the East Yorkshire Community Support Manager from Jerry Green Dog Rescue, said: “Rocco is such a bright, happy boy. “He’s full of personality and adores being around people. He’ll make a wonderful addition to the right home.” With his Husky heritage, Rocco thrives on exercise and mental stimulation. He’d love a family with previous dog experience who can help channel his energy into fun training and activities. He enjoys meeting other dogs on walks and has spent time with his foster family’s dogs. With the right introductions, Rocco could happily share his home with another playful, confident dog. Rocco is fully house-trained, can be left alone for two to four hours once settled and needs a secure garden where he can play safely. He can live with children aged 11 and over and is happy to meet younger visiting children aged five and over through Jerry Green’s Meet&Match® process. Despite thriving in foster care, staff say Rocco is desperate to find a permanent home of his own, a place where he can truly belong. Lauren added: “It would be wonderful for Rocco to have a family to wake up with on Christmas morning. “He’s such a loving, fun dog and really deserves his happy ending.” Rocco’s ideal home will be one that can offer him both companionship and stimulation and plenty of cuddles too. He’s affectionate, loyal and ready to fill someone’s life with joy and laughter.
